Ron Paul A Major Presence In This Race

January 8, 2012

This GOP Presidential race is fascinating to me. For the first time in years, there is a candidate to be excited about. For the first time in years, there is a candidate who understands economics, isn’t looking for personal gain, and stands on principles. This man of course is Ron Paul. There’s a reason that both political parties are out to put an end to the Ron Paul craze, but there’s too much momentum and too many people excited about Ron Paul.

The awesome thing is that even if Paul does not win the race, his presence will be significantly felt. The bottom line is that his 20% of the vote that Paul commands – this group is not going anywhere. This group won’t shift to another candidate. Moreover, if Paul runs as a third party he will effectively end Mitt Romney or another Republican candidates’ campaign immediately. He can’t win with Paul as a third party candidate. Therefore, you could argue Paul has serious leverage on the Republican party.

As such, Paul isn’t going anywhere.

He will be in this race all the way up until the conventions. Even if he doesn’t win, he will be all over TV for months speaking truth about issues and speaking in a way that millions of Americans have never heard. Even if he doesn’t win, the country will be much more educated because of Ron Paul and being exposed to what he speaks about. I’m very excited for this race simply because of Paul’s presence.
